Biography

 

Tucked away in the mid-eastern prairie fields of Alberta is singer/songwriter Florence Foxwell.

She is truly one of Alberta's hidden jewels in the Prairie.  She has two original albums to her credit

with the completion of her latest album entitled "Outside The Box."

 

Musicians on her new release include Miles Jackson (Frank Mills), 

Tom McKillip (Lisa Brokop), Robert Walsh, Wes Yaciuk, Kim Glanville

and Becky Moonen.  "Outside The Box" was recorded at Ma-Me-O Music Ltd. 

and was produced by Miles Jackson and Florence Foxwell.

 

Foxwell's original music brilliantly straddle borders between Folk, Country, Pop and Rock.

Drawing from her own personal experiences she is in constant quest for finding art within

her own life which has enabled her to create these beautifully crafted soulful songs.  Florence

has been song writing for over 15 years and has received several honorable mention awards for 

her works in international songwriting competitions including "Billboard,"  "John Lennon" 

and "Unisong."  She most recently  won second place in the "Performance" (Artist & Song) 

category of the 2005 UNISONG International song contest with her song "I Try."

Performance

Florence performs solo duo, trio and delivers an intimate acoustic show enjoyed by all ages.  

Her soothing voice and finger style guitar playing, along with some of the finest 

musicians Alberta has to offer, captivate her audiences.  

 

Florence believes that the evolution of a song is just as important as the song itself

and incorporates this into her show. We not only get to hear her sweet melodies, but 

also the stories that inspire her to write.  Her rich vocals, combined with excellent

song writing and finger style guitar playing, captivate her audiences.

 

Florence's musical performances have taken her across Alberta and into Saskatchewan

from Lloydminster's  "Cappuccino Voltaire,"to Edmonton's "Uptown" and "Northern Lights" folk clubs,

to Grande Prairie's "Muskaseepi Park Amphitheatre" and many places in between

In April 2004 she performed in Edmonton, Alberta as part of the Juno Week festivities

and on September 1st 2005 Florence performed her original song "My Alberta" in

Wainwright Alberta, a celebration of Alberta's 100th Birthday.

2005 performances included Edmonton, Peace River, Meadow Lake Saskatchewan,

Wainwright and Edgerton
